Project Risk Management Best Practices
ISSIG’s project management symposium, PDS’08, was held this summer near Washington DC. It featured many great presenters. One of them was Don Wessels. He discusses “Continuous Risk Management”.
Too many projects do not do a very good job on risk management. When they do it is usually at the high level when they might to a preliminary plan. And that is their thinking on Risk. Key Issues are:
Many organizations have a culture that does not allow or punishes risk management
Risk management should be continuous throughout the project cycle
